EAPoC Training for the Kisumu (Kenya) County Health Management Team

KEMRI study team successfully concluded a one-day training on EAPoC, for the Kisumu county health management team (CHMT) on the 4th May 2022 at the Sarova Imperial Hotel in Kisumu. Topics covered included EAPoC project background, Centralized viral Load Monitoring (Standard of Care), Point of Care viral load monitoring, EAPoC Aims and Objectives, Ethical considerations, and obtained valuable input from the CHMT on how better implement the trial, the CHMT among other suggestions proposed that the site work with the National Aids Control Programme to have the PoC VL results reported in the national portal.
The CHMT the provided documented approval for conduct of the study in Kisumu County health facilities. The CHMT has continued to offer great support during study implementation and are gladly looking forward to the study conclusion and publishing of findings that would hopefully revolutionize ART treatment monitoring and improve health outcomes.
