Introduction
The workshop aims to support participants in developing creative science communication projects. The idea is to help participants build science communication ideas informed by and grounded in the key concepts, theories and current trends in science communication space. The workshop will include creative sessions to allow participants to reflect on what they have learned while enabling them to reflect on creative aspects of science communication ideas. At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to apply current best practices to develop original innovative, creative science communication projects.
The workshop will cover topics such as an introduction to science engagement, science communication and the media, social media for science communication, digital media for science communication, developing a science communication plan and strategy, innovative science communication tools, and infusing storytelling as a tool for science communication. It will also give an overview of science communication for policy engagement.
